Opportunities for young people
Not everyone gets the same start.
For many young people, social research and evaluation aren’t even on their radar as a career. Not because they wouldn’t be great at it, but because no one ever told them it existed.
That’s why access and visibility matter. If young people can’t see a pathway into research and evaluation as a career, we risk missing out on incredible talent and perspectives that our sector urgently needs.
We’re working to change that, creating real, hands-on opportunities for young people to explore what evaluation looks like in practice, build confidence, and strengthen their CVs.
It isn’t just about skills; it’s about representation. When evaluators reflect the diversity of the communities we serve, our insights are richer, more nuanced, and more just.
We know we can’t do this alone. As a small social enterprise, we rely on collaboration with funders, organisations, and fellow evaluators who share this vision of a more inclusive field.
If that’s you, we’d love to connect drop us an email: jami@brightimpact.co.uk.
Let’s make sure the next generation doesn’t just stumble into evaluation and they choose it, because the door was open.
We’re also funding some research at the moment to inform a future support offer, potentially targeted at community researchers. We aren’t exactly sure what this looks like yet - that’s why we’re running the listening sessions. But we’re committed to creating opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds who are interested in research careers to learn and progress.
